About 秋田市

秋田市 是位於日本東北地方西北部、秋田縣中部的城市。1889年設市，並在1997年和郡山市同時成為東北首批中核市。秋田市是秋田縣的縣廳所在地，並且也是秋田縣的經濟、交通中心及人口最多的城市。因當地盛產大米，因此也是著名的日本酒產地。而每年8月3日至6日舉辦的竿燈，是當地200多年來在七夕時舉辦的傳統節慶活動，也是日本的重要無形民俗文化財。1997年秋田新幹線的開通使得秋田市的陸路交通更加便利，乘坐小町號列車最快只需約三個半小時就可從東京抵達秋田市。中心市區則位於雄物川下游的沖積低地。
